No Quarter - Fingestyle guitar arrangement

No Quarter - Fingestyle guitar arrangement

Today, a special video, "No Quarter", by Led Zeppelin! A few days ago, on August 20, I have intended to make a "Happy Birthday" post for Robert Plant..

I planned to link to it my solo guitar version of "No Quarter" from March of 2008 (have I been doing videos that long...?).

But as I haven't listened to it in years, I hated it right away: For one thing the audio/video quality sucked (neither HD nor widescreen were available at the time). For another, although the basic arrangement idea was good, I simply sucked, I played it WAY too fast and I... just sucked. So, I have decided today to post a new version, the same basic arrangement but played much slower, and therefore a bit more meaningful, and of course with contemporary audio/video standards. Just for laughs, my old performance is here.

BTW, a full length (probably 75-90 minutes) video lesson on how to play this new arrangement, head+improv, will be available by the end of September 2015. Email me This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more details.

Webmaster note: the old version of No Quarter does not sucks at all! It was one of the first videos of J.R. I saw... I liked it immediately along with 330+ people!

No Quarter - Led Zeppelin

Close the door, put out the light

You know they won't be home tonight.

The snow falls hard and don't you know

The winds of Thor are blowin' cold.

They're wearin' steel that's bright and true,

They carry news that must get through

They choose the path where no-one goes.

They hold no quarter,

They hold no quarter.

Walkin' side by side with death

The devil mocks their every step

The snow drives back the foot that's slow

The dogs of doom are howlin' more

They carry news that must get through

To build a dream for me and you

They choose the path where no-one goes.

They hold no quarter,

They ask no quarter.

They hold no quarter.

They ask no quarter.

The pain without quarter.

The pain, the pain without quarter.

They ask no quarter
